FAQ’s

What Is a Patient Advocate?
A patient advocate is a healthcare professional who guides you through the complex healthcare system. We provide personalized support in tons of different activities related to your health: Coordinating care, scheduling appointments, preparing for visits, understanding diagnoses, and making informed decisions—so you feel confident and supported every step of the way.

We don’t just help with medical tasks; we want to help improve your quality of life outside of the clinic, too! This means we can provide assistance for other activities, such as the following:

  • Coordinating travel for less mobile patients, which can include traveling to and from appointments or even fun events!
  • Working with decorators or contractors to make your home safer or accessible.
  • Suggesting helpful tools or resources such as mobility aids to help improve daily life and comfort.

There are a lot of different possibilities for patient advocacy. If there’s a way we can help, we’ll try our best to provide support!

How Is Patient Advocacy Different From Regular Clinic Services?
Unlike traditional clinic visits that focus solely on treatment, our patient advocate services center around you—your time, your goals, and your holistic health. We act as your advocate, guide, and bridge between various providers to help you navigate care with less stress and more clarity.
Who Can Benefit From Patient Advocate Services?
Anyone! However, those who are managing multiple health conditions, experiencing a new diagnosis, coordinating care for aging parents, or just feeling overwhelmed by the healthcare system may especially benefit from these services. We also support those seeking a more proactive, prevention-focused, and wellness-driven approach to health.
Is This Service Only for Local Patients in Rochester, MN?
No! Healthcare is for everyone and is needed everywhere. Therefore, we offer both in-person and virtual concierge support. Whether you’re nearby or across the country, we’re here to help you stay on track with your care and feel empowered in the process. We can provide virtual services across states or countries (we’ve helped patients in far-away places such as Washington, Colorado, England, and Germany) and in certain circumstances, we can travel to provide in-person services.
Can You Communicate With My Other Doctors or Providers?
Yes—with your permission, we can coordinate with your healthcare team, help you prepare questions for appointments, clarify recommendations, and even follow up after visits to ensure nothing gets lost in the process.
Is Patient Advocacy Covered by Insurance?
Patient advocate services are typically not covered by insurance and are offered as a self-pay service. However, our support often leads to more efficient, effective care and reduced stress—making it a valuable investment in your health journey.
What Is the Cost of Patient Advocate Services?
The cost of patient advocacy services can vary by patient needs, and therefore is usually billed by the hour or in 15-minute increments. Our tasks can vary greatly and involve a lot of different aspects—home visits, physical services, drive time, communication with other individuals or professionals, assessments, meetings, and much more.

In some cases, purchasing a treatment package plan may be a more suitable option for your needs. Feel free to browse our cost of treatment page, or reach out via the contact page for more information on our services and costs.

Can This Service Help Me With My Parents’ Care?
Absolutely! Many of our clients use patient advocate services to support aging parents. These services include tasks like navigating diagnoses, coordinating specialists, managing medications, and maintaining a patient’s quality of life. We’re here to make it easier—for them and for you
