FAQ’s

How Do I Schedule Intensive Physical Therapy?

To get started with intensive physical therapy services, you should schedule a discovery call first—this will allow you to learn more about the service and describe your needs to one of our providers, so they can help determine if Hive’s services fit your needs.

After your discovery call, if we decide to move forward with intensive care, then we will schedule each of your visits. This will most likely include at least one early telehealth visit, so that we can get started on crafting your plan of care, and even have you purchase some things in advance (such as dilators, resistance bands, books, etc.) so that you have them for the in-person sessions.

Please keep in mind that for this more frequent multi-session service package, Hive requires a non-refundable deposit that is 1/3 of your total service cost in order to reserve your appointment slots.

You’ll also want to talk to your insurance about your plan’s coverage, and check that your in-person physical therapy appointments will be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Unfortunately, if you are outside of the state of Minnesota, any telehealth services will most likely not be available for reimbursement as this will be billed as a wellness service.

Who is a Good Candidate for Intensive Physical Therapy?

All types of patients can benefit from this program; however, there are some who may benefit more from intensive physical therapy, including those who:

  • Have “failed” treatment previously
  • Don’t have access to specialized providers in their area
  • Have a more complex condition that is proving difficult to manage
  • Would prefer their physical therapy treatment and information to be accessible within a shorter amount of time, rather than spread out

There isn’t a patient who is unsuited for intensive physical therapy; anyone who is motivated to take control of their health, who is struggling to see results in their treatment, or who just wants to jump right into treatment quickly can benefit from it.
