Hive Therapy and Wellness can provide in-home physical therapy services even to patients who may not be able to come into the office! We want to provide healthcare that is not only accessible, but that goes above and beyond. Therefore, in addition to our telehealth services, we also offer home health services for some patients.
Our providers have extensive experience in patient care, and will work to accommodate your needs even outside the office. While in your space, they will uphold the highest level of respect for you and your home. Hive’s providers empower patients by creating strategies that maintain the patient’s independence, while also allowing them to self-manage their condition at home.

Is There an Extra Charge for In-Home Visits?
Home healthcare is more expensive than in-person or telehealth office visits, as the provider is coming directly to you and treating you within your space. In order to do this, the provider has to account for their driving time to and from your session, which also means they’ll have less time to be in the office. What Locations Do You Cover for In-Home Physical Therapy?
Hive providers can travel anywhere; however, any locations out-of-state may affect insurance reimbursements. Get in touch or book a discovery call for more information.
Are In-Home Visits Eligible for FSA/HSA Payments?
In-home physical therapy services are available for FSA/HSA. Hive Therapy and Wellness can provide you with a superbill, which can be submitted to insurance if needed. Hive does not work directly with insurance companies; however, if you are curious about coverage please refer to this document: Does My Insurance Cover My Care? This document can help walk you through what to ask your insurance specifically to see what your out-of-network coverage looks like.
How Many Visits Can I Expect per Month?
This is highly variable and typically determined by the physical therapy evaluation during your first visit. Prior to a physical therapy evaluation you will fill out intake forms. During this initial visit, your provider will review the intake information with you, perform a physical assessment, and if appropriate/needed will also perform a home assessment. From there, your provider will talk with you about the findings of the assessments and tie that into your goals to create a comprehensive, individualized plan of care. This care plan will roughly outline the number of visits and frequency needed to attain the goals you have for physical therapy.
What Treatments are Possible With Hives In-home Physical Therapy?
While receiving physical therapy services within your home, you can expect the following and so much more:
- A thorough evaluation to identify possible causes of symptoms or to better understand a patient’s condition.
- Hands-on treatments such as manual therapy, dry needling, neuromuscular re-education, cupping, tissue scraping, gait training, and more—which you can find listed on our treatments page!
- Exercise prescription and instruction, so that a patient can continue individual practice outside of sessions.
- A home evaluation to ensure patients have an environment that is conducive to health and safety.
