About This Provider
My treatment philosophy for physical therapy focuses on educating and empowering patients to take control of their health. By ensuring they confidently understand their condition and comprehensive treatment plan, I equip them with the knowledge and resources needed for long-term success. This includes providing high-quality, evidence-based treatments during sessions while also preparing my patients for the future:
- My treatment methods combine hands-on techniques with personalized exercise plans and activity modifications. During sessions, I perform treatments like dry needling and manipulation to address immediate needs, while stressing the importance of continuing exercises at home. My treatment philosophy always includes prevention, injury rehabilitation, and maintenance. A well-rounded healing experience must also extend to practice outside of our sessions, and I make sure to provide patients with the tools they need to do so.
- To minimize future injury risk, I offer tools to improve mobility, flexibility, strength, and balance. For injury rehabilitation, I aim for a quick recovery that leads to a better state of health than before, further preventing future issues. Ongoing maintenance also reduces the likelihood of injuries, ensuring long-term health and wellness.
In order to better support patients taking control of their health, I provide individualized care that is accessible, time-efficient, financially conscious, and stress-free. To provide this level of care, I make sure to take a well-rounded approach to physical therapy, integrating the following elements into my philosophy:
- Accountability: I guide patients towards independence, encouraging them to take ownership of their recovery—ensuring sustained success beyond our sessions.
- Collaboration: I create an environment where patients feel heard and valued, emphasizing that their path to wellness is a team effort: Involving myself, other medical providers, family, and friends.
- Holistic: I value helping patients understand the mind-body connection. In other words, I recognize that pain and injury are influenced by stress and lifestyle factors. I make sure to address all of these factors so that the patient experiences a holistic recovery.
Growing up, my life revolved around sports—specifically football. I was fiercely competitive, pouring my heart and soul into every game. Academically, however, I was less dedicated…doing just enough to get by. Physical therapy wasn’t even on my radar until my sophomore year in college, when a series of injuries forced me to reconsider my future. Multiple knee and shoulder surgeries, concussions, and back injuries culminated in the heart-wrenching decision to step away from football, the only thing I knew how to do and the one arena where I felt truly at home.
Despite this setback, my desire to help others remained strong. I began to see a purpose behind my struggles and the extensive rehabilitation I had experienced. This realization inspired me to channel my energy, dedication, and competitive drive into my studies with a newfound focus on physical therapy. It felt fitting to pursue a profession where I could help others navigate similar challenges and, ideally, help them avoid such injuries altogether.
My commitment to physical therapy is not merely about helping others; it is about excelling in this field. I aim to leverage my personal experiences to provide the highest level of care, guiding patients through their recovery with empathy and expertise. My journey has been one of transformation, from a single-minded athlete to a dedicated professional, eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.

I had the opportunity to know and work with Dr. Nash for a few years now. I’ve worked with him as both an aspiring PT student and a patient. Dr. Nash played an instrumental role in my journey to recover from a significant knee injury sustained over the past year. His profound knowledge and unwavering compassion were pivotal factors in my successful rehabilitation process this past year. I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such an exemplary professional in the field.

I first learned of Dr. BJ Nash from my regular physician. She’d heard he was different, in a good way! I hadn’t had real results from past physical therapy treatments, but I went to Dr. Nash as a last resort. My physician was right—Dr. BJ Nash is different. He listened to my concerns, and every session was based upon the need of that day. He reminded me to trust him in that he wouldn’t put me in a position to hurt myself. Physical therapy is hard work but Dr. Nash makes you feel like you can do it! He helped me GET BETTER, and isn’t that what physical therapy should be about? GETTING BETTER! 😊

I started working with BJ because of pain in my hip while exercising. He educated me on proper form, proper muscle use, and gave me effective, easy-to-practice exercises. I was moving better and without pain in a few weeks. I came back to BJ after injuring my shoulder, and he provided the same high level of service. After a little over a week of working on the recommended exercises, I was able to move without pain. My teenage son worked with BJ over a summer to help with strength and mobility for sports, and it made a world of difference in his performance level. BJ is great to work with. I highly recommend Hive.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Nash for about 2 years now and he is hands down the most knowledgeable and talented person. He actually wants to get you as pain-free as possible and doesn’t just want the continual paycheck from you showing back up, like other providers I’ve seen in the past have. I have never left an appointment with him feeling anything other than complete relief. Dr. Nash is the most respectful doctor I’ve ever seen, he treats everyone with kindness, compassion, and respect. To say I recommend him is quite the understatement and I hope to continue working with him for a very long time.

I’ve been fortunate to get to know both Dr. Nash and Dr. Meihofer well. While most (if not all) of my services are provided by Dr. Nash, both of them are very kind, approachable, professional, and knowledgeable in their respective specialties. As a surgeon, part of my schedule includes being in the operating room and being on my feet / in awkward positions, which results in fairly routine aches and pains. Dr. Nash goes above and beyond to provide not only the content but also the knowledge and reasoning for why certain exercises and routines are necessary. I cannot recommend Dr. Nash highly enough!

I am so happy that I went in to see Dr. Nash. I had been in upper shoulder, arm, and neck pain for years and had lost a significant range of motion. Dr. Nash determined that my shoulders likely were frozen and started dry needle therapy and simple home exercises. After two months, my pain has significantly decreased and I have increased range of motion again! I feel that Dr. Nash has been thorough in his explanations and takes great care to ensure that you are comfortable with his procedures. He is an excellent communicator, is patient, flexible, and willing to answer tough questions or concerns that you have.

I am very thankful for Dr. Nash’s approach to physical therapy! I had been experiencing sciatic and low back pain for 3 years. Dr. Nash is one of the very few, maybe only, doctors who have explained my nerve/muscle issue in a way I understand, helping me become more mindful and in tune with my body.
I noticed the greatest relief and difference after having dry needling combined with corrections done. He also equipped me with a toolkit of various mobility, strengthening, and even breathing exercises that I can utilize for years on! Please don’t be shy to reach out to Hive, you will not regret it!

I have been seeing Dr. Nash for a while and can honestly say that he has been critical to my wellness. He truly cares, and he is an go-to for me whenever I am running into issues. It’s because of him that I truly believe that PT works. He meets people where they are at and has been incredibly thoughtful in his approach with me, and it shows in the results/stability/relief that I have been getting from his support.
If you are reading this review and are hesitating, do yourself a favor and give BJ (or Laura!) a chance to improve your life. It has been nothing short of life-changing for me.

I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with BJ. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and cared for. His expertise and professionalism were evident in every session. Not only did he create a treatment plan that addressed my specific need, but he also took the time to educate me about my condition and how to prevent future issues. He was always attentive, encouraging, and supportive throughout the entire process. His dedication to my recovery was truly inspiring. If you are looking for a physical therapist who generally cares about your well-being, I highly recommend BJ Nash without hesitation.
