Philosophy for Treatment

My treatment philosophy for physical therapy focuses on educating and empowering patients to take control of their health. By ensuring they confidently understand their condition and comprehensive treatment plan, I equip them with the knowledge and resources needed for long-term success. This includes providing high-quality, evidence-based treatments during sessions while also preparing my patients for the future:

  • My treatment methods combine hands-on techniques with personalized exercise plans and activity modifications. During sessions, I perform treatments like dry needling and manipulation to address immediate needs, while stressing the importance of continuing exercises at home. My treatment philosophy always includes prevention, injury rehabilitation, and maintenance. A well-rounded healing experience must also extend to practice outside of our sessions, and I make sure to provide patients with the tools they need to do so.
  • To minimize future injury risk, I offer tools to improve mobility, flexibility, strength, and balance. For injury rehabilitation, I aim for a quick recovery that leads to a better state of health than before, further preventing future issues. Ongoing maintenance also reduces the likelihood of injuries, ensuring long-term health and wellness.

In order to better support patients taking control of their health, I provide individualized care that is accessible, time-efficient, financially conscious, and stress-free. To provide this level of care, I make sure to take a well-rounded approach to physical therapy, integrating the following elements into my philosophy:

  • Accountability: I guide patients towards independence, encouraging them to take ownership of their recovery—ensuring sustained success beyond our sessions.
  • Collaboration: I create an environment where patients feel heard and valued, emphasizing that their path to wellness is a team effort: Involving myself, other medical providers, family, and friends.
  • Holistic: I value helping patients understand the mind-body connection. In other words, I recognize that pain and injury are influenced by stress and lifestyle factors. I make sure to address all of these factors so that the patient experiences a holistic recovery.
What Made You Choose Physical Therapy?

Growing up, my life revolved around sports—specifically football. I was fiercely competitive, pouring my heart and soul into every game. Academically, however, I was less dedicated…doing just enough to get by. Physical therapy wasn’t even on my radar until my sophomore year in college, when a series of injuries forced me to reconsider my future. Multiple knee and shoulder surgeries, concussions, and back injuries culminated in the heart-wrenching decision to step away from football, the only thing I knew how to do and the one arena where I felt truly at home.

Despite this setback, my desire to help others remained strong. I began to see a purpose behind my struggles and the extensive rehabilitation I had experienced. This realization inspired me to channel my energy, dedication, and competitive drive into my studies with a newfound focus on physical therapy. It felt fitting to pursue a profession where I could help others navigate similar challenges and, ideally, help them avoid such injuries altogether.

My commitment to physical therapy is not merely about helping others; it is about excelling in this field. I aim to leverage my personal experiences to provide the highest level of care, guiding patients through their recovery with empathy and expertise. My journey has been one of transformation, from a single-minded athlete to a dedicated professional, eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.
